Sìth Café: Glasgow

Opening in August 2008, Sìth Café will be a welcoming community cafe and arts space in Glasgow's West End.

With an excellent menu, welcoming atmosphere and community vibe, the café will also have an exclusive line of gifts, artwork and things to treat yourself with!

Looking for somewhere to sit quietly, read, knit, surf the web or meet up with friends? Sìth will be the place. Evenings will feature language classes, open mic nights, knitting lessons, good food and lots of laughter.

Sìth will be based on Dumbarton Road, less than two minutes from Partick Underground, and will be open from 10am - 10pm 7 days a week.

Check out the journey on our blog - click here.

What's special about Sìth?

For the record...

Okay, so it's a work in progress, but keep checking in - we'll post new pictures regularly!

We will welcome everyone! Bring your Mum, bring your Granny too, and the kids...

We will be fully accessible to wheelchair users.

The chef may look scary but she rarely bites. If you ask very nicely she may even be able to rustle something up off-menu...

Gorgeous gifts and little treats

What's with the funny words?

Ah... Okay, so one of the Directors is a native Scottish Gaelic speaker. "Sìth" means "peace" in Gaelic. We want the café to be a restful, peaceful, safe space.

So there you go, the funny words are Gaelic. Feel free to ask for help with pronounciation!
